Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine practice that involves inserting thin, sterile needles into specific points on the body, called acupoints, to promote healing and restore balance. According to Chinese medicine, these points lie along pathways called meridians, which carry the body’s vital energy, or Qi. The practice is believed to unblock or balance Qi, alleviating pain and improving overall health. Modern medical research suggests acupuncture may stimulate the nervous system, improve blood flow, and release natural pain-relieving chemicals like endorphins. It’s commonly used for conditions such as chronic pain, stress, anxiety, insomnia, nausea, and allergies.

My name is Kirsten, and I’m a holistic health enthusiast and massage connoisseur who considers massage therapy one of the most valuable tools in my own healthcare toolbox. Sharing the therapeutic gift of touch has been my life’s work.

I grew up in a tiny mountain town in Northwest B.C., where as a teenager I discovered my healing hands and began studying alternative health modalities. Caring for others was always my calling.

With 25 years of combined experience as a Licensed Esthetician, Reflexologist, and Registered Massage Therapist, I bring depth, skill, and deep respect for the work to every session. I’m a graduate of the 3,000-hour program at the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy, and my clinical focus includes therapeutic relaxation and stress relief, injury recovery, nervous system support, pregnancy care, and holistic skincare.

I view the treatment room as a sanctuary for calm, rest, and healing. I strive to create a light-hearted, soothing environment where patients feel genuinely cared for, safe, and at ease.

I’m the owner of Grant Street Wellness and also work as a visiting RMT at BC Women’s & Children’s Hospital and the BC Cancer Agency. With roots on Vancouver Island and in Vancouver—where I now live and practice—I’m passionate about supporting both patients and fellow practitioners. Alongside my clinical work, I love creating welcoming spaces that help other therapists grow their businesses.

My goal is simple: to help people rest, recover, and find a little more peace on their own life’s journey. ♥️

We all have our own unique experiences and needs. My goal is to provide an inclusive, non-judgmental space that meets you where you’re at and helps you get to where you’d like to be. Massage can be beneficial both physically and mentally, especially when you can feel truly at ease knowing that you will be supported and understood.

I graduated from the Registered Massage Therapy program at Langara College in 2022. I work with a range of techniques and pressure levels that are tailored to your individual needs. I tend to offer a firm but slower approach to help maintain control and allow time for feedback from you and your tissues, enabling relief and relaxation to coexist.

Communication and consent are important to me. My aim is to empower you to communicate your needs regarding your body, mind, and personal space at any point before, during, or after treatment.

I’m a big advocate for mental health, with my own lived experience navigating that journey. My hope is that this understanding deepens the support I can provide through massage therapy, which is a space where both body and mind can find relief.

Overall, I am curious, compassionate, and a bit of a goofball. Outside the clinic, I’m a devoted cat mom to Enid, a lover of arts and culture, and a firm believer in doing what brings you joy!

Note: While I offer direct billing to most insurance providers, it may take time before I am able to offer certain insurance companies.
